Based in East London, THE DAYBREAKERS channel the frenetic, melancholic sounds of The Doors and Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac while evoking shades of The MC5, Gun Club and Thin Lizzy. Looking to shake off the well worn, stereotypical 'black bluesman' moniker, THE DAYBREAKERS were formed by songwriter, guitarist and vocalist Aidan Connell to upend the London rock vanguard. His talents have been lauded and utilized by artists such as Gary Clark Jr, Mazzy Star and Seasick Steve among many others.
No stodgy purists, THE DAYBREAKERS embrace sampledelica, avant- garde and dance oriented pop to their Paisley clad bosoms.
The rhythm section grooves like a mutha thanks to the School of Stax/Motown' bass player Conor Cotterill and rock solid rhythm of drummer Max Revell with the three musicians embodying the seeming paradox of tight but loose. Their unorthodox approach and side stepping of rock norms has set them apart from the crowd, attracting celebrity fans as well as a cross generational following enthused by their fresh take on rock's Golden Era.
THE DAYBREAKERS have been tearing it up at UK and European festivals and venues, both in their own right and as the stand outs at Starship club nights, which has attracted such luminaries as Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page. They've also recently had airplay on both BBC Radio 2 and Radio 6 Music.
