Lazuli is a progressive rock/avantgarde rock band formed in France in 1998. In 1999 they released their self-titled first album Lazuli, which had a limited audience.
Their second album, Amnésie, in 2004, was released after Lazuli signed with the Night & Day distribution group.
On July 2 and 3, 2005, Lazuli attended the Montreux Jazz Festival and received an award for "Under the Sky."
The band has played two times on the Baja Prog Mexicali Festival which has improved their popularity.
In 2007 the band released their third recording: En Avant Doute.... The album was distributed via Musea Records and contained a bonus DVD with a live registration of a concert the band did in Nimes some years earlier.
In June of 2009 Lazuli released their fourth album, titled Réponse incongrue à l'inéluctable.
In November 2009 the band announced that due to differences Sylvain Bayol (chapman stick, warr guitar), Frederic Juan (marimba, percussion) and Yohan Simeon (percussion) have left the band in order to form a new project. Dominique Leonetti (vocals, guitar), Claude Leonetti (Léode) and Gederic Byar (guitar) will continue as Lazuli with new band-members.
Already in December of the same year Lazuli attracted two new musicians: Romain Thorel (keyboards and french horn) and Vincent Barnavol (drums and percussions). They started rehearsing and in May 2010 the new Lazuli performed live for the first time.

Sumer have been together since October 2010 pushing their unique brand of post-metal. The band is made up of Tim Bonney (Vox/guitars), Ian Hill (vox/guitars), Jim Hall (guitars), Taria Dawson (bass) and Toby Bonney (drums).
“Sumer bring prog rock kicking and screaming into the 21st century with frankly dazzling aplomb … The essence of Sumer is also the incredible stage presence and the delivery of their triple guitar attack which surges, explodes and winds down in waves leaving the senses in a euphoric state of jubilant chaos.” Metalmouth.net
"A hypnotic blend of prog-rock frenzy and post-metal delirium ... Sumer’s musical talent is outstanding and all five members exude exceptional zeal performing live on stage" Prog Mag
The debut album, The Animal You Are, engineered and produced by Sean Douglas (The Franklys, The Graveltones, Django Django) and mastered by Justin Paul Hill (Sikth, Yashin, Young Guns), is a dynamic, soulful and groove laden ride into the band's unique take on modern prog rock and metal, echoing not only contemporary greats such as Karnivool and Gojira but also with a firm rooting back into the glory days of grunge and prog with a nod of the head to the likes of Led Zeppelin, Soundgarden and Smashing Pumpkins.
Despite many of these influences the album still retains a distinctly British feel thanks to their unconventional approach to recording which unlike many of their contemporaries, keeps it all live, all analogue and put down on vintage equipment.
